Private piano lessons with Elizabeth include a strong foundation of ear training/aural skills, music reading and rhythm, healthy technique throughout each phase of study, and exposure to music of various composers, syles and genres (classical, jazz, musicals, sacred, holiday, etc.) Lessons have an emphasis on encouraging students to use their natural strengths to develop their pianistic skills while learning to improvise, compose and analyze music they hear and play. Elizabeth designs and plans lessons for each student, customizing the methodology, music repertoire, activities and pacing to adapt for each individual student. Piano lessons regularly include movement to music, off-bench activities as well as incorporating creative uses of technology to assist with the learning process.

Elizabeth's students enjoy opportunities to share their music in recitals, music festivals, at assisted living facilities and community events, and in church and worship services. Public performances are not a required aspect of studying with Elizabeth and each students' musical journey will be shaped by their unique gifts, abiltiies and learning needs.
"One of the best gifts I can give my students is the gift of unlocking their own musical creativity and helping them embrace their innate musicality. My favorite aspect of teaching is when I see my students experience the 'aha' moment- and helping adapt music in ways that works for them. Every individual is capable of musical expression; it's my privilege to guide students on their musical journeys and walk with them through the learning process!"
